London, England – 9 December, 2014 / meetingrooms.com, the global marketplace to book professional meeting rooms, on-demand, is pleased to announce that David Quinlan has joined the fast growing startup company’s UK office as Chief Technology Officer. In this role David will oversee the company’s development pipeline to ensure technology products are delivered to meet strategic business objectives.
David is a highly skilled technologist with 20 years experience in the software industry. His background spans the public and private sectors, including startups. He has extensive experience leading inhouse and outsourced development teams, and specialises in software design, enterprise application development, API/XML web services integrations, strategic planning and data design.
“The addition of David to the team is a huge win for the industry,” said Caleb Parker, CEO of meetingrooms.com. “Our partner network, as well as customer demand, requires complex solutions to the existing technology void which currently prevents the scaling of meeting room bookings. David is an innovative thinker with the leadership skills we need as we gear up for the official launch of our products in the new year.”
meetingrooms.com launched in March of this year in private beta with venue partners in 30 countries. Now in public beta, meetingrooms.com has processed bookings in 20 markets across the UK, Ireland, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The company will officially launch to end users in a series of global markets in the coming months
“This role is the kind of challenge I was looking for,” said David Quinlan, “I look forward to leading the tech team to further develop the meetingrooms.com suite of products and grow the platform into an industry leader. I’m very happy for the opportunity to contribute at this early stage.”
meetingrooms.com is a global marketplace that allows customers to benefit from a global “one-stop-shop” and provides meeting room venues with an additional “pay on performance only” sales channel, to increase meeting room occupancy and revenue. The platform works by matching venue partners’ vacant meeting rooms with customer needs in real-time. As meeting rooms often sit empty, venue partners benefit by exposing their inventory to a wider customer base than they could on their own through the meetingrooms.com global platform. meetingrooms.com is powered by Search Office Space, which provides support by way of its infrastructure and a 20 year history of relationships with meeting room venues and customers alike. Both companies were founded by British entrepreneur, Richard Smith, who serves as President of meetingrooms.com and CEO of Search Office Space.
Bookable spaces consist of a variety of professionally appointed board rooms, conference rooms, interview and collaboration spaces, training and seminar rooms across a variety of venue categories such as: Executive Suites, Serviced Offices, Hotels and Conference Centres.
